Taking the typical dry and acid washing process route as an example: the raw
ore is first finely crushed and shaped by a ZSL vertical sand making machine.
This equipment adopts the principle of stone crushing, and the particle size of
the discharged material can be adjusted to 1-5mm. The finished sand particle
shape is rounded, reducing the proportion of fine powder over crushing. The
crushed material enters the YBF square rocking screen for precise
classification. The screening machine designed by Shanlu Heavy Industry adopts
planar rotary motion, with a screening efficiency of over 95%, and can easily
separate standard sand ranges such as 20-140 mesh and 40-70 mesh.
Graded quartz sand often contains iron pollutants that need to be removed in
a targeted manner. Shanlu Heavy Industry has parallel installed CXT dry
permanent magnet drum magnetic separators and RCYD permanent magnet suspension
iron separators in the production line. The former is suitable for the
adsorption of strong magnetic iron particles in continuous conveying layers,
with a stable magnetic field strength of 3000-5000Gs on the surface of the drum;
the latter is suspended above the conveyor belt and can effectively remove mixed
mechanical iron such as iron filings and oxide scales. After two-stage dry iron
removal, the iron content in the sand material can be initially reduced to below
200ppm.
For high-purity quartz sand with a requirement of Fe ₂ O3 content below
80ppm, a chemical purification section needs to be introduced. The acid washing
reaction kettle provided by Shanlu Heavy Industry is made of corrosion-resistant
304 stainless steel or lined with PP material. The kettle body is equipped with
a heating jacket and a stirring device, which can be used for leaching
hydrochloric acid, oxalic acid or mixed acid. The design temperature of the
reaction kettle can reach 100 ℃, and the stirring speed can be adjusted from
0-60r/min to ensure sufficient contact between the acid solution and the sand
material. After acid washing, the sand material undergoes deacidification,
neutralization, and cleaning before entering the calcination furnace for
high-temperature treatment. The maximum working temperature of the calcination
furnace is 1200 ℃, which can effectively remove gas-liquid inclusions and
organic carbon impurities in quartz sand, further improving whiteness and
purity.
