Bottom flow concentration 45% -55%+filter cake moisture content ≤ 10%: Three core equipment for processing quartz sand tailings at Shandong Heavy Industry

In the wet beneficiation process of quartz sand, the treatment of tailings slurry is directly related to water resource utilization and environmental compliance. Taking a typical tailings dry discharge system as an example, the tailings slurry (with a solid content of about 5% -15%) discharged from the front-end magnetic separation, flotation or acid washing processes first enters the NM thickener for gravity settling and concentration. The NM thickener designed by Shanlu Heavy Industry adopts a central or peripheral transmission structure, and the pool diameter can be customized according to the processing capacity. The commonly used specifications are 6m-24m. After the slurry enters the pool through the central feeding drum, the solid particles quickly settle with the assistance of flocculants. The bottom flow concentration discharged from the pool can reach 45% -55%, and the suspended solids content in the overflow water is less than 300ppm. It can be directly reused in the production system to achieve water resource recycling.

The bottom flow of the thickener enters the BK high-pressure diaphragm frame filter press for deep dehydration. The filter press adopts reinforced polypropylene filter plates, and the filtration area can be configured according to demand. The feed pressure gradually increased to 1.2 MPa, and solid particles formed a filter cake on the surface of the filter cloth. Subsequently, high-pressure water is injected into the diaphragm chamber for secondary pressing, further squeezing out the moisture in the filter cake. The BK filter press designed by Shanlu Heavy Industry is equipped with an automatic pull plate system and a filter cloth vibration device. The filter cake automatically falls off during unloading, and the moisture content of the filter cake can be controlled within 12%, meeting the requirements of dry discharge storage or external transportation. The filtrate from the filter press is clear with a suspended solids content of less than 100ppm, and can be combined with the overflow from the thickener for reuse.

For tailings slurry with high fine mud content and difficult pressure filtration feeding, Shanlu Heavy Industry can pre install DTS vibrating dewatering screen for pre dewatering. The screening machine adopts a double-layer polyurethane screen, and high-frequency vibration can first remove the coarse particle size (+0.3mm) in the tailings slurry. The screened material is directly used as a by-product of construction sand, and the undersized slurry enters the thickener. This configuration can reduce the processing load of the thickener and filter press, and improve the overall processing capacity of the system.

If the production line has high requirements for recycled water quality or the tailings slurry contains fine mineral particles, Shanlu Heavy Industry can choose BTC ceramic filter to replace or use in conjunction with filter press. The ceramic filter uses the capillary force generated by the micropores of the ceramic plate to drive dehydration, without the need for a vacuum pump or high-pressure air, and has low energy consumption. The moisture content of the filtered cake can be reduced to 8% -10%, and the suspended solids content of the filtrate is less than 50ppm, especially suitable for the treatment of fine-grained tailings. The filter machine is equipped with an automatic backwashing and acid washing system, and the ceramic plate can be used for long-term circulation.
