Petroleum fracturing proppants have strict requirements for the roundness,
acid solubility, and turbidity indicators of quartz sand. Shanlu Heavy Industry

Taking the typical fracturing sand dry processing process route as an
example: the raw ore is roughly crushed by jaw crusher and then sent to ZSL
vertical sand making machine for fine crushing and shaping. The equipment adopts
the principle of stone crushing and crushing, with the discharge particle size
controlled within the range of 0.5-4.5mm, and the finished sand particle shape
is cubic with a roundness of over 0.7. The crushed material is sent to the YBF
square swing screen for precise classification through a bucket elevator. The
screening machine designed by Shanlu Heavy Industry adopts flat rotary motion,
with a screening efficiency of over 95%, and can separate multiple
specifications of products such as 20-40 mesh, 40-70 mesh, 70-140 mesh at once.
The coarse particles on the sieve are returned to the sand making machine for
further crushing, while the fine powder on the sieve is collected as a
by-product.
The graded coarse sand often contains iron and heavy mineral impurities,
which affect the acid solubility index. Shanlu Heavy Industry is equipped with
CTB permanent magnet drum wet magnetic separator in the production line for iron
removal pretreatment. This device uses rare earth neodymium iron boron magnetic
material, with a magnetic field strength of 4000Gs on the cylinder surface,
which can effectively adsorb strong magnetic particles such as magnetite and
hematite, and control the Fe ₂ O3 content of the sand material below 150ppm.
After magnetic separation, the sand material enters the LXS spiral chute for
re-election, using the difference in specific gravity to separate heavy minerals
such as garnet and zircon, further reducing the content of acid insoluble
substances.
For mineral sources with high silicate impurities such as feldspar and mica,
Shanlu Heavy Industry introduced SCF flotation machine for flotation impurity
removal. Flotation uses amine collectors to raise impurities such as feldspar
under acidic or neutral pH conditions, leaving quartz at the bottom of the tank.
After flotation, the feldspar content in the sand material significantly
decreases, and the acid solubility can be reduced from 8% -10% to below 5%,
meeting the requirements of first-class fracturing sand. After dehydration, the
flotation fine sand is sent to the HGS triple pass drum dryer for drying
treatment. This dryer is composed of three concentric cylinder sets, with a long
material travel and sufficient heat exchange. Its thermal efficiency is about
30% higher than that of a single cylinder dryer. The moisture content of the
discharged material can be controlled within 0.5% to meet the requirements of
packaging, storage, and transportation.
After drying, the sand material enters the YBF square swing screen for final
re screening to ensure that the particle size distribution of the finished
product strictly meets the requirements of the standard range. The products that
pass the re screening are measured, packaged and stored by an automatic
packaging machine.
