In the purification process of quartz sand, differentiated sorting methods
are required for different particle sizes and impurity types. Shanlu Heavy
Industry provides various equipment such as reselection, dry electromagnetic
selection, and wet classification, which are suitable for scenarios where there
is a significant difference in the specific gravity of sand or where dry
operation is required.
Taking a process line that balances coarse particle reselection and fine
particle electromagnetic reselection as an example: the raw sand is first
crushed and then enters the ZSW high-purity horizontal sand making machine for
fine crushing and shaping. The equipment adopts a horizontal structure, and the
material is subjected to hammer impact and liner grinding in the crushing
chamber, resulting in uniform particle size and less over crushing. The crushed
material is sent to the MZK mining vibrating screen. The screening machine
designed by Shanlu Heavy Industry adopts a circular vibration trajectory, and
the number of screening layers can be configured as 2-4 according to demand,
with stable screening efficiency. By replacing different aperture sieves,
multiple particle size ranges such as 0.5-2mm and 2-4mm can be obtained.
For coarse-grained sand larger than 2mm, if it contains impurity minerals
with high specific gravity (such as garnet, ilmenite, etc.), the re-election
method can be used to remove them. Shanlu Heavy Industry is equipped with LXS
spiral chutes at this stage. The device consists of a spiral groove surface.
When the slurry flows on the groove surface, heavy mineral particles tend
towards the inner edge of the groove bottom, while light mineral particles move
towards the outer edge, thus achieving separation. Spiral chutes require no
power, have a large processing capacity, and have a significant effect on
sorting coarse particles. After sorting through a spiral chute, the removal rate
of impurities with high specific gravity in coarse quartz sand reaches over
70%.
For fine sand below 0.5mm, Shanlu Heavy Industry uses DCG high field
electromagnetic dry magnetic separator for iron removal. The equipment adopts
electromagnetic excitation, and the magnetic field strength can be adjusted by
current, up to 18000Gs. The magnetic separator is equipped with a vibration
feeding device and magnetic rollers inside. The material is evenly distributed
on the surface of the magnetic rollers, and weak magnetic particles are adsorbed
and rotated with the rollers to the non-magnetic area for unloading. Non
magnetic sand falls into another collection hopper. After DCG magnetic
separation, the content of Fe ₂ O3 in fine-grained sand can be controlled below
100ppm.
If fine powder (-200 mesh) is generated in the production line, Shanlu Heavy
Industry can supplement electromagnetic dry powder magnetic separators for deep
purification. This machine is specifically designed for dry fine powder, using a
multi-layer magnetic roller or magnetic plate structure with high magnetic field
gradient, suitable for removing iron from powder in the range of 10-100 microns.
The processed micro powder can be used for high value-added products.
In the wet process section, Shanlu Heavy Industry introduced SZ blocked
settling machine for grading. This device utilizes upwelling water flow to
stratify particles according to particle size or density during the settling
process, and can be used to remove fine mud or extract coarse particles. The
obstructed settling machine is equipped with a moisture distribution board and a
discharge device inside. By adjusting the rising water flow rate and water
pressure, a clear grading interface can be obtained. This device can be used in
series with a spiral chute to further improve sorting accuracy.
