More than 90% of the water cycle! The wet production line plan for glass sand has arrived

Float glass, photovoltaic glass, and daily-use glass have strict standards for the particle size, iron content, and chemical composition of quartz sand. Shanlu Heavy Industry provides specialized production line equipment for glass sand, including crushing, screening, grinding, magnetic separation, grading, and dehydration. It is suitable for the production of silica sand for glass in the 20-140 mesh range and meets the requirements for first grade float glass with Fe ₂ O3 content ≤ 120ppm and SiO ₂ content ≥ 98.5%.

Taking the typical wet processing route of glass sand as an example: the raw ore is roughly crushed to below 30mm by a jaw crusher, and then sent to a ZSW high-purity horizontal sand making machine for medium and fine crushing by a belt conveyor. The equipment adopts a horizontal structure, and the discharge particle size can be controlled within the range of 1-5mm. The over crushing ratio is low, which is beneficial for particle size control in subsequent grinding processes. The crushed material is fed into a wet rod mill through a vibrating feeder for grinding. Unlike ball mills, rod mills use cylinders with appropriate aspect ratios and steel rod media to grind through linear contact, resulting in a concentrated particle size distribution of the discharged material. The wet rod mill designed by Shanlu Heavy Industry can grind materials to the range of 20-140 mesh, accounting for more than 80%, and has less over crushing phenomenon, which helps to control the fine powder content.

After grinding, the slurry flows automatically into the YBF square swing screen for precise classification. The screening machine adopts planar rotary motion, and the screening efficiency is stable at over 95%. Glass sand has high requirements for particle size concentration, usually requiring a proportion of no less than 75% between two to three adjacent sieve sizes. Shanlu Heavy Industry can separate standard sand ranges such as 20-40 mesh, 40-70 mesh, and 70-140 mesh at once by optimizing the sieve configuration. Screen the coarse particles and return them to the rod mill for further grinding, forming an open or closed circuit grinding system.

The qualified slurry after classification enters the magnetic separation process for iron removal. Shanlu Heavy Industry is equipped with CTB permanent magnet drum wet magnetic separator in the production line for preliminary iron removal. The magnetic field strength on the drum surface is 4000Gs, which can effectively remove strong magnetic minerals such as magnetite. After preliminary selection, the slurry enters the LHC vertical ring high gradient magnetic separator for deep iron removal, with a background field strength of 1.5T. The magnetic medium in the sorting chamber can capture fine weakly magnetic iron and titanium impurities. After two-stage magnetic separation, the Fe ₂ O Ⅲ content of the sand material can be reduced to below 100ppm, meeting the sand standard for float glass. The refined sand after magnetic separation enters the DTS vibrating dewatering screen for dewatering. Double layer polyurethane screen surface, high-frequency vibration, and the moisture content of the dehydrated sand material can be controlled within 15%.

In terms of tailings treatment on the production line, Shanlu Heavy Industry is equipped with a dry discharge system consisting of NM thickener and BK high-pressure diaphragm plate frame filter press. The thickener increases the concentration of the tailings slurry from 5% -10% to 45% -50%, and the bottom flow is sent to the filter press for pressing until the moisture content is below 12%, forming a dry cake. Overflow water and filtrate reflux to the front-end grinding or magnetic separation process for recycling, with a water recycling utilization rate of over 90%.

For glass sand that needs to be dried and packaged or transported over long distances, Shanlu Heavy Industry can add a HGS three return drum dryer for drying treatment after dehydration. The moisture content of the discharge can be controlled within 0.5% to meet the anti freezing requirements for long-distance transportation.
