In the quartz sand production line, the vibrating dewatering screen is
responsible for the key tasks of solid-liquid separation and reducing moisture
content. Many customers have reported frequent screen replacement and high
moisture content in dehydrated sand. The problem often lies not in the screening
machine itself, but in the feeding concentration and screen selection.

The material of the sieve is the primary consideration. Quartz sand has high
hardness and sharp edges, and ordinary steel wire mesh often wears through in
just a few days. Polyurethane mesh has good wear resistance and a service life
5-8 times that of steel wire mesh. Although the unit price is higher, the
overall cost is lower. The double-layer screen configuration is also worth
considering, with the upper coarse screen sharing the impact load and the lower
fine screen controlling the dewatering accuracy, which can effectively extend
the overall screen life. The feed concentration also directly affects the
dewatering effect. When the concentration is too low, the flowability of the
slurry is too strong, and fine sand is easily lost with water; When the
concentration is too high, the material accumulates too thick on the sieve
surface, and the lower layer of sand material is not sufficiently dehydrated.
Practice has proven that controlling the pre screening slurry concentration
within the range of 40% -55% results in ideal dewatering efficiency. At the same
time, pay attention to whether the inclination angle of the screen surface can
be adjusted. When handling different materials, the inclination angle should be
adjusted appropriately, generally between -5 ° and 5 °. In daily maintenance, it
is also necessary to pay attention to checking whether the tension of the screen
surface is appropriate and whether the rubber spring is aged or cracked. These
details will affect the dehydration effect and the lifespan of the screen mesh.
